| Semicon Europa 2009: Process development challenges |

Abstract: It is no secret that the semiconductor industry and other high-tech industries have suffered over the past year. According to figures from the GSA, semiconductor sales were down by 6% in 2008 compared to 2007. This downturn in sales is true for most high-tech industries, which are particularly suffering in the current climate. As such, driving down costs and increasing productivity is obviously essential in these tough times. One way that high tech companies, and in particular the semiconductor industry, can do this has been left largely unexplored until now. By making the development of new production processes faster and more efficient the goals of faster time-to-market with lower budget can be reached. |
