High-tech is a term that is widely used whenever somebody wants to say something is state of the art. So high-tech can be applied to fields like semiconductor or nanomaterials but also to some “old industries” like paint production. What all these industries have in common is that there is a production process involved that has multiple steps, many parameters or both.

This article describes methods by which R&D process development efforts can be streamlined by automated data / information collection, structured retrieval and analysis preparation and improved reuse / sharing.
